The name 598 Company is descriptive of the early days of Pinehurst: 1) 598 initial acres was purchased in 1895 (reverse or mirror 598); 2) a total of 5980 acres was purchased by James Walker Tufts.  Thus, 598 is unique in and of itself and descriptive of only one place - PINEHURST, NC.

The 598 Company is being formed as a management company for new business development in Pinehurst; Pinehurst business acquisition; Pinehurst real estate acquisition; Pinehurst business management; Pinehurst small business loan facility; and other Pinehurst oppotunities as appropriate.   598 Company is the General Partner of 598 Private Equity Fund which helps support PARS and In Celebration of Pienhurst..

The Pinehurst community will have the opportunity to invest locally in private equity that is re-invested in local small to medium size businesses and other Pinehurst business related opportunities.  Invest Locally, Put Your Money Where Your Life Is.  A minimum 5%  of the Net Income from 598 Company will be donated to support PARS, In Celebration of Pinehurst and there initiatives.

598 Company's connection with PARS is that they are a significant donor and help sustain the organization financially.  598 and PARS are both supportive of In Celebration of Pinehurst website, which also supports PARS.
